Water heater repair & installation

The water coming into your home makes a journey through a system of pipes, and it’s usually cold or cool, depending on the time of year. To have water warm enough to take showers or baths, or use your dishwasher or washing machine, you need a water weater.

Until you experience a leak or a few cold showers, you’ll hardly ever think to schedule water heater check-ups. As a matter of fact, some people wait so long to service their water heaters that they risk damaging the tank and using up way more energy than necessary.

Sewer repair

Tree roots are usually the prime suspect when it comes to sewer-line damage, with thousands of feet of roots constantly seeking moisture and often finding it in your sewer line. Older, clay tile pipes are most susceptible to invasion, but these roots can penetrate even concrete and PVC pipes.

In addition to root damage, a broken or clogged sewer line can happen in a number of ways. Objects can find their way into the line and become lodged. Extreme temperature changes and general deterioration can cause sewer problems, such as lines buckling or breaking. Ground shifting or improper installation can also lead to misalignment.

Video Sewer Inspection

This process avoids the expense of “exploratory” plumbing or digging up your yard by using a miniature camera to find out exactly what and where the problem is. Video inspection can also confirm the structural condition of your lateral pipes. It can tell you if an auger or high-pressure flush can solve the problem, or if more extensive repairs are necessary.

Kitchen Drains

Grease, soap and food waste can take their toll, making your drains clog and run more slowly over time.

Shower/Bathtub Drains

Water should drain immediately when you’re showering and in just a few minutes after a bath. If it’s draining slowly, your tub or shower trap and drainpipe is probably clogged with soap and hair, and shower/bathtub drain repair or cleaning may be needed.

Bathroom Sink Drains

Slow draining and clogs are often a result of toothpaste, soap and grime. If you lose something down the drain, don’t run any more water. Call your local Rescue Rooter® professional, who should be able to retrieve the lost item without too much difficulty.

Toilet Drains

A clogged toilet is often caused by attempting to flush facial tissue, baby wipes or other products that don’t disintegrate the way toilet paper does.  Fortunately, there’s a special plumbing tool that can cut through any obstruction while hugging the inside wall of the pipe, giving your toilet drain a thorough cleaning at the same time.

Floor Drains

Basements, laundry rooms, garages, patios, driveways and even older bathrooms often have a drain to carry away water and revent flooding. Usually they are equipped with a trap that should be filled with water to prevent odors and sewer gas from escaping. Regular drain cleaning is recommended to prevent major clogs.

Leaks and Drips

A leaky faucet doesn’t seem like a plumbing emergency, but did you know that a faucet that drips 5 times a minute wastes approximately 230 gallons of water a year? Not to mention, a dripping faucet can quickly stain your sink and rust your fixtures.

Frozen Water Pipes

Beware the unexpected cold snap or deep freeze. Frozen water pipes are a serious risk during very cold winter weather. When water freezes in a pipe it expands and can exert pressure over 2,000 pounds per square inch. This pressure is enough to rupture most any pipe filled with water which provides no place for the ice to expand.

When the pipe bursts it will spill several hundred gallons of water per hour, and that equates to thousands of dollars of damage to your home. Sad when you consider how easy it is to prevent a frozen water pipe.

Private Drain Program

The City may now repair sewer drain tiles coming from private residences, of up to four units, that are broken under the public way. This is the area from the city sidewalk to the center of the street.

Tiles proven to be broken under the public way will be repaired by the City at no cost to the property owner when the following conditions are met: A licensed sewer contractor must be hired to rod and/or make a video inspection of the drain line, and the contractor must schedule a review by a sewer inspector.
